They left huge damage on my eye and I feel so depressed. Surgeon cut my eye with laser then told me he was suppose to do PRK instead of laser.

Run from these type places

If you are in the Philadelphia PA are get to Wills Eye Hospital, its the ONLY place to go for the eyes. I am not an employee or married to one just a person who had eye surgery there as did a few members of my family. Doctors are top notch and so is the follow up

No one will return calls

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had my surgery in Jan of 2015. At the time I was very pleased with the service ( I did wait a long time the actual day of surgery, but overlooked it once the procedure was over) Dr. January was very funny and made me feel comfortable. I was excited because I had been wearing glasses for about 40 years and after the surgery I could see with no glasses!!!. I did buy the guarantee that if I needed a "tune up" after a few years that they would do it for free. It's been almost 4 years and I am experiencing blurred vision and floaters which they said might happen. So, I have called 3 times leaving a message regarding a "tune up" consult and no one will return my calls. I am not happy and am concerned, particularly because Dr. January no longer works there. My husband spent about 3k including the lifetime warranty on this as a gift for me. I am worried that we will not be able to utilize the warranty

Beware!!! they’re going to try to push a lot of things on you.( warrantee and Eye plugs for example ) The plugs are a gimmick don’t buy them. It’s a waste of money. They’re going to be pushy and try to get you to do it. Just say no . After I was given two different prices. I finally just gave in. Spent $250 on Eye plugs and afterwards the doctor told me they only last about 90 days when I complained I didn’t think they were working .

A big rip off and hustle for a refund

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I saw the add on Groupon for $1,799 bought it and went there for a consultation last July 2017 now it’s May 2018 I found out it will be $3200 not $1,799 as advertised. I paid the difference and made my appointment for the surgery the last week of April That day of surgery that morning after making me and my husband take a day off, they did some other tests and told me that I was not a candidate My concern is why they did not tell me that at first so I won’t waste my time and money Now I m trying to get my refund from them but still nothing, they said refund process usually can take months I m so pissed off about situation because I want my money back asap

The understaffed office

On my initial appointment I waited hours because the office was short-staffed. Follow up visit I waited longer than the time it took for my exam. Do not feel they had any value for me or my time This made for a lack of confidence in company.

AMAZING!!!! I never knew what it was like to be able to not see, and now my vision is 20/15!! Better than 20/20! And I only had it done not even a month ago and I just got back from my second post op appointment. The procedure was so quick, simple and PAINLESS! It wasn’t even “uncomfortable” and it was over before I knew it. The doctors talked me through every step and were extremely genuine. I wasn’t even in the procedure room 10 minutes and it was done. and it’s a lifetime guarantee!!! I HIGHLY recommend the lasik vision institute to anyone thinking about lasik! DO IT!

I wouldn't say it was painless... and it definitely is uncomfortable.

Ruined my eyes forever.

I experienced floaters from the day after my surgery and will for the rest of my life. The Dr said that I already had them which was a lie of course.

I then had a retinal hole in my other eye which resulted in having to have laser surgery at Dean A. McGee. The result is foggy vision in both eyes due to the floaters. The doctor of course was no help at the place where I had the surgery.

My vision was never corrected properly and I had to buy new glasses and will see fog for the rest of my life in the day and night time.

I probably need a good lawyer who can get me some big bucks back from these blinding idiots. Stay away from Laser Vision Institute

Cannot get my refund still, 4 months later

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

i got my eyes done at LVI, did so well, I brought my husband in for a consultation. It was later determined he wasn't a good candidate, but not before I got charged $ 500.00 for punctal plugs.

I have called repeatedly for my refund. They never let you get to the actual office and can get to no one in the financial department. Ready to contact a lawyer. Either that or dispute it with my credit card company.

They are really friendly and accommodating when they are taking money-not so much when it's time to give it back.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Really getting frustrated.

After being told my eyes were not to bad they have me an estimate that was I was shocked had doubled the day off procedure after they made me wait two hours in the waiting room. They already had my down payment and when I would not consent to the new price they refused to give it back although the deposit was based on the estimate at the initial interview for intake! SCAM. BEWARE.

Wrong

They say 299.00 per eye but when they get you in there it ends up being in the realm of about 3500 to 4000 and there's no way to be sure it will work

Need to know

I just want to know if it is advisable or not the intraocular lens before have the procedure . I'm afraid of losing my sight.

They offer me a lens for short distance. Because I see well from afar and say that recovery is immediate that I can return to work in 24 hours. Can someone tell me if this is true? In the offices of Tampa fl.

It is known that all cases are individual and that success depends on many factors.

They say that I have asymmetry that is for the age but I am not sure that this surgery really is worth. If someone has experience in this center that I would like to share, I would very much like to have a little more information before I risk it

Poor Communication and Customer Service

I have worn contacts full-time for over 20 years. I recently won a $1000 off LASIK surgery at LVI from a drawing I entered. This should have been my first clue. I set up the initial consultation/evaluation and received a handful of calls and emails reminding me of my appointment. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the office and the professionalism of the staff during my initial visit. I was told I was a candidate for PRK, and I told them I needed to think about whether or not I could do the surgery and take the time off work. I decided to go through with the surgery, which was supposed to occur a month and a half after my first visit. After scheduling, this is where the communication started to go downhill. I did receive emailed consent forms, as well as pre and post operation instructions. I am a very detail oriented person and paid close attention to those instructions. It turned out the post-op sheet was not updated because some of the medications I picked up at the pharmacy were different. They also were originally going to call my scripts in to a completely different pharmacy (not sure where they got that info) until I corrected them. I could overlook the above issues and was excited for my upcoming surgery. Because PRK recovery takes longer than LASIK recovery, I had to take two unpaid days off work (I have a new job) plus the weekend to recover. My boyfriend took an unpaid day off work to take me to the surgery location and help me that day. When I got to the clinic for the surgery, they called me back (after the surgeon rushed through the door running late....). Apparently I had missed a key instruction.....you weren't supposed to wear your contacts for 7 days prior to the surgery. Well I don't recall anyone telling me that, and there certainly was nothing on the pre-op instruction sheet about that. The staff acted like I should have known that and were obviously perturbed with me. I've never had eye surgery before, so I didn't know that. I had to cancel the surgery that day. I went home quite upset as it was all just a waste of time and money (spent $250 in the prescriptions). I wrote a email to the clinic manager the next day about the incident and she explained that I was informed about the no contacts rule at the time of the initial consult. I honestly don't recall that, and you are told a lot of things at that visit. Plus, I hadn't even decided to have surgery at that point. After a couple of email exchanges, which were civil and adult, she said she was just going to refund my surgery deposit. I emailed her and told her that I guess that meant I wasn't going to be allowed to reschedule surgery. I haven't heard anything back from her since. Overall, I felt like just a number and was extremely dissatisfied with their lack of communication in regard to the pre-op instructions. Their initial friendliness is contrived and fake, and just a method to reel you in. After reading a lot of reviews about LVI, I feel I was lucky to have not gone through with the surgery in the end. Blessing in disguise.

Ripoff

I had my Lasik done there and I paid 1949.00 per eye to have the lifetime warranty but now that I just went back to get my vision corrected as I am back to wearing glasses I had to pay 99.00 for an exam just to tell me that they cannot find my records and that they will locate them but if they cannot find them with my exams they will not stand behind the life time guarantee. I have been waiting for over 6 months for them to locate the records and call me back. I have called about every 3 weeks and I get the same answer let me check on that right now and I will get right back with you.
